Maybe Earthwise kids could include some kind of “action” section, about things that kids can do *right now*, or facts to educate them. It can be stuff not included in the books :).

    October 23rd, 2008 at 9:04 pm

i think the site is adorable, but i think they need more products and maybe an interactive spot for kids to use, with tips or fun ideas? I know there is a blig, but its pretty hidden.

I would LOVE to win this for neice!

Their products are great, my son’s fave book at the moment is “All the way to the Ocean.” - I thinks its a great site, easy to navigate, easily identifiable sections, but would love to see more producats for sale, which I knwo will happen as the business expands. Good luck earthwise.

  12. 12)   Janelle Says:
    October 24th, 2008 at 3:24 am

Under the shop section, I was confused for quite some time how to read about each book individually. There needs to be some other way than just clicking on the small icons down below the large graphic of the book. Maybe have all three books on the same page? Same with the other items for sale.

  13. 13)   margelina Says:

The website is great! Maybe they could have a link to give kids ideas about going green and recycling, ect.?

I think it is a really great site with cute products. I think that other than buying these great products there could be suggestions for kids to “go green” in everyday life. Then they could truly be Earthwise Kids!!

  22. 22)   Michele Says:

  25. 25)   Susan Says:
    October 24th, 2008 at 10:39 am

I also like the site - I wish the tshirts came in more of a variety of sizes (beyond 2,4,and 6). But the designs of the tshirts are very sweet!

I love the site - the adorable moving creatures are so peaceful and fun. The testimonial page is a little bland by comparison but I think overall the site is quite appealing.

  28. 28)   Nad Says:
    October 24th, 2008 at 11:22 am

I like the site. Something I think they could add is tees that go beyond size 6, as older kids could also benefit from learning about saving our environment and promoting it on these super cute tees.

  31. 31)   Patti Says:
    October 24th, 2008 at 12:11 pm

I like the site and can’t really think of any way to improve it. Though, $100 seems like a lot to spend on books and shirts to get free shipping!

  32. 32)   Jessica Says:
    October 24th, 2008 at 12:26 pm

The site looks great. The only thing I can think of is adding more products to choose from. And maybe add some clothing items for babies.

  33. 33)   Kathleen W. Says:
    October 24th, 2008 at 12:29 pm

I think their website is lovely in its simplicity and graphics. I can’t see how they could improve it, other than just adding more things to their shop, like maybe some soft toys or even soft toys that go along with their books, like a turtle or polar bear. I loved cuddling up with a stuffed animal that there was a book about. It made it more “real”.

I love what they have but I would like to see a lot more, especially the organic t shirts.

  40. 40)   Jennae @ Green Your Decor Says:
    October 24th, 2008 at 2:17 pm

Overall, the site design is nice, but I have a couple of suggestions as a designer. The graphics are somewhat blurred and pixellated, so it would be great to have them be sharper. Also, the typography is fairly well done, but I think there are too many competing fonts. Otherwise, the design is great! I just wish there were more products to choose from :) I LOVE companies with a conscience!

I think it’s a great site! I do think it would be nice if those little characters were in the green sidebar on the left, it would attract young people, too. And I would love to see an excerpt of the books a little closer up! Thanks for the giveaway, my daughter would love these!

  49. 49)   Audrey Says:

“Organic Tee’s” should not have an apostrophe. But they are cute regardless! Also, the Land, Ocean, and Wildlife choices for each product should be in a drop-down menu just like the size and quantity. It took me a while to figure out that I had to click those buttons. Thanks for the giveaway!

  50. 50)   oona Says:
    October 24th, 2008 at 8:47 pm

I really like the animated turtle swimming at the top of the page! If I could change one thing, I would change the font. If it was a little sharper/cleaner, it would be easier on the eyes. I think you have lovely, timely books for children!

    Thank you for the giveaway!

I thought the website looked great; it didn’t have too many things going on at once, but held my interest. I love the idea of jute bags instead of wasteful packaging, and the gift set looks like a good deal!

  56. 56)   Grace FULL Says:
    October 25th, 2008 at 5:25 am

Great website. I love the pleasing muted colors and simple illustrations. Easy to navigate as well. However, I was looking for a bit more about the content of the books. Someone else mentioned that as well…a larger sample of what’s in the book. Thanks for hosting!

  57. 57)   Aimee Says:
    October 25th, 2008 at 5:26 am

I loved the website, it was really cute. I wish my children were bigger to wear the t-shirts…would you ever think of adding onesies and smaller t-shirt sizes like 6-12 mths and 12-18 mths?? I would also love to see some sort of interactive part that kids can come onto your website and “play” while learning…otherwise it was really great to see!!!!

The only suggestion for improvement is to have a page where you can view all the products at once. If you have a slow computer, I can see how someone would get frustrated with having to click on so many things to view each product. These products look great though!

  80. 80)   Gina Stratos Says:

Darn it! I meant to answer the question…sorry. My only comment about the site is about the blue titles for the products. Like here: http://www.earthwisekids.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=28
On my computer the blue lettering appears quite light - perhaps darken it a bit. Otherwise the site is easy to navigate. The style/layout is great, as well as the photos. Good job!

    Hi there,
I like the simplicity of their site- I really couldn’t figure out a suggestion- except that maybe the word BLOG could go in the top section. This way, more people can be educated about what Earthwise is doing and perhaps having an interactive page for kids?! I’m all for eco-companies and think their products are eco-fab!! :)

Hi- your products and the website look great! I would perhaps like to see the blog integrated more into the site- you could use it to point to news stories, have kids post entries, etc… And I agree with the poster above that a sample page from each book would be great!

One suggestion would be for your company to create a Twitter profile and post updates, news, etc, there (many major companies, including Whole Foods and Trader Joes) are using Twitter.Com as a marketing tool.

If we are going to be nit-picky, I would like the words to link to the products and not just the pictures (Starting at the home page, clicking on say Wildlife and ending up on the 3 options). I tend to try to click there first but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to move up to the picture so I don’t think it is an issue. I love the soft colors of the site - it doesn’t overwhelm like others.

well, for the earthwise kids web site ~ I really like it ~ I wish they had more stories to offer so it could be something to collect! & also maybe if they had some kind of kid interaction on the site!! a game or something that would teach the kids the same values as the books ~ overall I thought the site was really cute & very easy to navagaite :c) although I must admit that I misread the question on this website & thought we were suppossed to leave a comment on the earthwise website :cP so I emailed customer service telling them they need to clearly mark a “comments section” ~ hehe ~ sorry about that!! My daughter would love these books :c) ~ peace ~

I like the little animals on the web site, the turtles and polar bear etc.. You might consider putting a section with some simple tips on how to better the environment (use reusable bags, turn off the lights, etc). I know your books probably incorporate that but it doesn’t hurt to have a small section stating a few things for people to do. If someone doesn’t order the books right away, they may still leave the web site armed with some ideas on how they can help.

I really like the flash header, it’s very cute graphics. I don’t know what it is about the Shop section, but it’s a bit too simple for my taste. Maybe if it was organized by type rather than category it would be a bit more interesting–in other words have “Wildlife”, “Land” and “Ocean” instead of the products, since essentially there is only one style of each product just with different graphics.

Your site has wonderful graphics. I love the animations! You may want to consider a sidebar to list different categories: organic t shirts, Gift Sets, Books, Ocean Life, Earth, Land, etc to show up while you’re still in the product’s page to make shopping easier. More shopping options (like by size, product type, price range, etc) would help too.

In the Press Section, have the images link back to the webpage! That would save me from having to type up all those different sites!

    Oh and more great products.
